I’d be remiss if I didn’t cast the spotlight on Michelle Obama for the Haute Look of the Week. We all waited with baited breath to see what she would wear to the state dinner for Mexican President Felipe’ Calderon, last Wednesday. The First Lady was stunning in a one-shoulder, electric blue gown by Peter Soronen.

Thousands of attendees were shuttled from FedEx Field to the base to marvel at air performances and static displays of military aircraft of the past and present. This annual event is fun for not only military enthusiasts, but families as well. I captured some pictures with my iphone for those of you that were unable to make it out.

On mother’s day, 2010, I would like to give thanks to all of the American mother’s, who have helped shape and mold this country just as much as our founding fathers did. So much has changed in our nation since George Washington’s quote, but one clear fact has managed to withstand time: There is nothing more potent against the evils of the world than a mother’s love.
