City Center DC To Create Retail Focal Point For The District

The massive hole between 9th and 11th streets downtown, at the site of the old Convention Center, is slated to become the epicenter of retail shopping in the Distict. According to the “Downtown DC Shopping District 2011″ report, the 10-acre CityCenterDC mixed use development will accomodate a large amount of the $600 million in unmet shoppers’ goods retail demand.

DeVaughn was awarded the key to the city for his contributions towards HIV/AIDS awareness and domestic violence prevention. Mayor Gray also proclaimed May 5th as “Raheem DeVaughn Day.”

Outraged over the recent treatment of the District during federal government shutdown resolution talks, Norton said, “It’s time that the District of Columbia told Congress to “go straight to hell.” Norton is riled up over a rider to a bill that prevents DC from spending its own tax revenue on abortions for low income women.
