Girls Make History Day 2011; Navy Yard Museum

On Saturday, June 25th at 10:00am, girls make history!

The U.S. Navy Museum and American Girl are celebrating the third annual Girls Make History Day with activities and family-friendly fun especially for children ages 5-13. This event is FREE and open to the public. Come one, come all.

U.S. Navy Museum employees and volunteers will be on deck to ensure that a good time is had by all, while introducing American naval and maritime history and science using activities based on the American Girl series. As a special treat, Jacqueline Dembar Greene, author of the Rebecca series, will be there for a book signing/discussion.

No RSVP is required to participate in Girls Make History Day this year. For more information, please contact (202) 433-6897 or navymuseum@navy.mil.  All children attending the event will also be eligible for a raffle for a free American Girl Doll.  **Any child who chooses to dress as their favorite character will receive an additional raffle ticket for an American Girl mini-doll.**
