In honor of the father’s day holiday, DaddysCool.com, an online father-focused website and blog, will host their inaugural family day party, “Candy Rocks,” on Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 2pm – 5pm at Liv (2001 11th NW, Washington, DC). The Candy Rocks event will serve as the official community launch of the DaddysCool.com website as well as providing a family-friendly experience for proud parents (moms and dads) to enjoy an afternoon of fun with their children. Event features multiple services and activities for parents and children all included in the $12 price.
DaddysCool.com was created by three DC area natives and childhood friends; all proud fathers of young children. Described as “Progressive, Proactive Dudes with Kids”, founders Mike Tucker (Automotive Journalist, YARDstyle Magazine, and co-publisher of “Walking On Water When the Ground Ain’t Enuff”), Cam Poles (writer, educator, and co-founder of AlleyHouse Entertainment), and Joseph Wise (Metrorail instructor for Metro) collaborated to create an online environment for fathers to interact, learn, and support one-another throughout the journey of fatherhood. Candy Rocks is the first of many events the team has created to connect their mission live-and-direct into the DC community and bring families together. Tucker and Poles children, Michal Zoe and Sekai will be celebrating their birthdays at Candy Rocks.
Candy Rocks guests will have access to a variety of refreshments, entertainment and activities. While the parents enjoy complimentary pampering treatments, games, networking and giveaways, their children can stop by various activity stations for mini-makeovers, face painting, temporary kiddie tattoos and much more. The candy-themed event will include lots of pop music with an 11-year-old girl, DJ Skate, spinning the sweet tunes. Kids will partake in the “Candy Bar” filled with sweet sugary treats and birthday cake. A brunch menu will be available from the resident eatery Tap and Parlour.
Advanced tickets for Candy Rocks can be purchased at http://candyrocks.eventbrite.com. Children must be between the ages of 4-11 and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Also visit www.daddyscool.com for more information.
