Pink power was in full effect on Tuesday, May 18, as DC’s top newswomen hosted the 3rd Annual Newsbabes Bash for Breast Cancer to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Survivors, politicos, and members of the media converged at the Fairmont Hotel for this signature breast cancer awareness event.
Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker (Founder and CEO of the Susan G. Komen Foundation) and Jennifer Griffin (Fox News Correspondent and breast cancer survivor) were this year’s honorees. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla), Secretary of Health and Human Services Honorable Kathleen Sebelius, and DC’s first lady Jonice Gray Tucker were among esteemed guests.
The Newsbabes host committee consisted of newswomen from across the region, including well known personalities like Andrea Roane (WUSA), Shawn Yancy (WTTG), Angie Goff (WUSA), Leslie Foster (WTTG), Eun Yang (WRC), Sue Palka (WTTG), Lindsey Czarniak (WRC) and Laura Evans (WTTG).
Funds raised from the event will benefit the DC Newsbabes Team for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
