[Editor's Pick] Tigerlily Foundation’s 3rd Annual EmPower Ball

The Tigerlily Foundation’s 3rd Annual EmPOWER Ball will bring together people from around the Washington, DC Metropolitan area to raise funds to support young women 15 – 40, before, during and after breast cancer.  Tigerlily Foundation’s programs provide education, buddies, buddy bags, meals, financial assistance and support to young women.  Scheduled for June 24, 2011 from 6-9 p.m., the event will be held at the Willard InterContinental Hotel, 1401 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. and will be hosted by Natasha Barrett of WJLA Channel 7/TBD Channel 8 News.
Supported by Members of Congress, healthcare organizations, corporations and advocacy groups nationwide, the event will celebrate young women’s lives.  Tigerlily Foundation’s 3rd Annual EmPOWER Ball will honor Fox News Correspondent, Jennifer Griffin, our keynote speaker, who is a fearless breast cancer survivor, for her advocacy work.  We will also honor Dr. Michael Schultz, Director of the Breast Center Cancer Institute at St. Joseph Medical Center and Michelle Tull Bynum, a fearless young survivor who was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer in her 30’s and worked tirelessly to help educate others.  Award presenters will include Tony Perkins, News Personality, Fox 5 and Surae Chin, Reporter, WUSA*9.  The gala will feature a seated three-course dinner, cocktails, silent auction, presentation and live music.  Sponsors include the Gannett Foundation (Silver Sponsor), Moore Cadillac (Bronze Sponsor) and The Full Cup (Tiger Sponsor).  Tickets are $150 and tables are $1500.  Sponsorships opportunities available.

About Tigerlily Foundation
Tigerlily Foundation is one of the only organizations in the nation providing full lifecycle, service-oriented assistance to young women (15-40) before, during and after breast cancer.  The Tigerlily Foundation focuses solely on women between the ages of 15 and 40 and works to empower young women to be their own best advocates for their health.  11,000 young women are diagnosed with breast cancer annually, and 1,100 die of the disease.  Even though they get breast cancer less often than older women, younger women tend to have more aggressive breast cancers, so education about the risk factors and early detection is key.  Tigerlily Foundation exists to decrease this disparity, and with our motto of “Beauty, Strength and Transformation”, we aim to change lives. We hope you support our mission.  Visit www.tigerlilyfoundation.org to learn more about our 3rd Annual EmPOWER Ball.
