Recently, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation commemorated Black History Month with its 2nd annual A Voice Heritage Celebration held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Washington, DC.

Dr. Debra Newman Ham, Ronald V. Dellums and The Coca-Cola Company were honored with Avoice Heritage Awards for their outstanding commitment to the importance of African-American history in public life.

Members of Congress including Donna Edwards (D-MD), Elijah Cummings (D-MD), John Conyers (D-MI), and Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) were in attendance as well as civil rights activist and DC’s first US Congressman, Rev. Walter E. Fauntroy.   WUSA news anchor, Andrea Roane, was mistress of ceremony.
