The look of love: how to achieve a natural make-up look for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is almost here and we all want to look sexy for our men, but we know that they like the “natural” look. However, you still need to apply a little makeup to enhance your natural beauty and still look glamorous but have a natural feel to it. Here are a few great tips to accomplish that:

So let’s start with the eyes. Apply a thin layer of eye primer (my fav, Urban Decay’s -Eyeshadow Primer Potion) all over your lid, from lash line to brow, so your eye makeup can last throughout your romantic evening.

Then apply a neutral eyeshadow, preferably a pigment, with a flat stiff eyeshadow brush, and apply over you lid. Pat on and not swipe.

Take a creamy black liner and do what we makeup artist call tight-line. Tight-lining is when you lift your upper lid and place the liner to the upper waterline. This makes lashes look naturally thicker. If you want, you can then take the liner and apply it to the upper lash line just 2/3 of the way to intensify the lashes a little.

Apply the Ardell False Lashes (individuals) with the Duo Lash Adhesive. The key to using the glue and applying the lashes, is to allow the glue to set for about 30 seconds before dipping the tip of the lash into it (this helps them stick to the to the lash without moving all over the place). Then apply the lash to the upper lash line. If you’re a little advanced or feeling a little daring, you can apply them under on the upper lash.

Take a pencil brush and apply a dark brown shadow and smudge into the lower lash line.

Apply mascara.

Now for the cheeks, far a natural sexy look, apply a bronzer (a couple shades darker than skin tone) almost like a contour, to the cheeks.

Use a peachy pink blush and then to get a nice glow on the tops of your cheeks, use an iridescent powder right on the top of the cheekbones, making sure to blend with your blush.

For the lips, remember to use something nice and natural like NYX’s Lipgloss in Beige – which is not so beige because it’s pink!

You don’t need a ton of stuff to be sexy this Valentine’s Day.

Stay sexy and Happy Valentine’s Day!
