In honor of the late Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, this week’s inspirational piece is about Dreams. As children, we were asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Some of us answered with the profession we liked most at our school career days. Others chose careers we thought made a lot of money. Then, there were those of us that wanted to be just like our parents. As we grew older, most of us explored and discovered a true area interest or passion. Some make it their life goal to fulfill their purpose or vision. But then there are those that believe their dreams aren’t attainable. Whether it is a lack of resources, time, or opportunity, they think no matter what they do their dream is only a dream. The truth of the matter is any dream can come true–if you work hard enough.
It’s possible that even Dr. King had no idea of the type of impact he’d have when he first became a civil rights activist. But he had a dream and he never stopped trying to fulfill it. His dream and his effort changed not only America, but the world. Whatever your dream is, no matter how big, it CAN come true. Claim it and work it into existence. Many people have been able to achieve far more than they ever dreamed they would. The one thing they all have in common is perseverance.
