It’s true that you haven’t seen DC (and surrounding areas) until you’ve seen it at night. The Masonic Temple in Old Town Alexandria is a marvel as it sits, perfectly lit, atop a hill on Callahan drive. At nightfall, take a ride or even a stroll down King Street and you’ll be provided a perfect view of the George Washington Masonic Memorial. If you really want to be blown away, drive up to the grounds of the memorial and stand at the overlook. The bird’s eye view of Old Town will take your breath away–especially the historic buildings, moving cars, and white lights along King Street.
If you’ve seen this building at night and haven’t been moved by its beauty, I urge you to get in your car tonight, turn off the radio, silence your cell and take another look.
