If you live, work or shop in Georgetown, chances are you’ve walked or driven past this landmark and didn’t even know you were looking at the oldest standing building in Washington, DC.  The “Old Stone House,” located on M street NW was built in 1765 by a cabinet maker named Christopher Lamen.  The house served as both the Lamen’s shop and his home.  The house was purchased by the US Government in 1953 and is now a national park site.
